Portland, OR Nov. 2007
My brother's birthday usually coincides with Thanksgiving. And since
this year our parents abandoned us for the holiday, choosing instead to
go galavanting around the South Pacific, I flew out west to spend time
with Dr. Jonathan. He had, an unheard of, five days off from his
residency. We spent it hiking, skiing, eating and drinking. It was a
lovely trip.
Hawaii
During the first week of May in 2007 I headed to Seattle for
a friends wedding. The celebration coincided with my brother's
one week of vacation from his first year as family medicine
resident at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
So we decided to take a week, fly to the Big Island of Hawaii
and stay with our friend Sammy Stanbro. We had a wonderful
time exploring the island and the surrounding water, snorkeling
almost every day, swimming with dolphins, hiking over lava
and feeding the geckos.

2006
In the spring of 2006 my brother Jonathan moved to Portland
Oregon to begin his family medicine residency at Oregon Health
and Science University. I took 10 days to drive with him,
taking the northern route across the U.S.A. It was a great
time.
Guatemala
In November of 2005, my parents and I joined my brother in
Guatemala. He was living in Central America at the time. We
spent a lovely few days in Antigua, Chichicastenango and Lake
Atitlan, where we enjoyed a surprisingly traditional Thanksgiving
dinner.
Croatia
In August of 2005, I joined my parents who were sailing aboard
their boat in Croatia. We sailed from Dubrovnik to Split and
visited many of the beautiful islands along the Dalmatian
coast.
Turkey

During June of 2003 I spent three weeks in Turkey with my
